Three-Star Linebacker Jonathan Agumadu Commits to Oklahoma State
Agumadu provides some fireworks.

The Cowboys are getting some fireworks this Fourth of July with the addition of linebacker Jonathan Agumadu.
Out of Texas, Agumadu picked the Pokes on Tuesday over other finalists SMU, Missouri, Memphis and North Texas. Agumadu also had offers to Texas State, UNLV, Arkansas State, Liberty and others.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Agumadu is set to play his senior season at McKinney High School, but he played at Pearce as a junior, where he recorded 48 tackles, including 4.5 sacks in nine games, according to MaxPreps. It was his first season as a defender after playing wide receiver before that.
247Sports lists Agumadu as a three-star prospect and the No. 134 linebacker in the class. The recruiting service also lists him as the No. 214 player from the state of Texas.
OSU offered Agumadu in mid-May, and he took an official visit to Stillwater starting June 14 ahead of his Independence Day announcement.
Agumadu is the Cowboys’ first commitment of July, but he continues a string of summer pledges for the Pokes. OSU had six prospects commit in the month of May with Agumadu being the 13th player to pick the Pokes overall.
OSU now has three commits listed as linebackers by 247Sports with Agumadu joining Gunnar Wilson and Jaylen Boardley. New defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo now has eight defenders committed in the 2024 class.
