Travis Ford’s Saint Louis Team Left by Drunk Bus Driver In New York
Travis Ford’s Wednesday night likely went worse than yours.
His bad night started when his team dropped to 8-16 on the season with a 70-55 loss to St. Bonaventure. Then it got worse, as they learned their bus driver, who had driven them to the St. Bonaventure gym, had taken off without the team in tow. A runaway bus driver!
It turns out, the driver taking off may have been a blessing in disguise. According to New York State Police, the bus, driven by Linda Edmister, was pulled over on Main Street in Randolph — nearly 35 minutes from the gym. When state troopers tracked Edmister and the bus down using GPS, she was put through field sobriety tests. And she failed. New York State Police arrested Edmister for DWI with a blood-alcohol content of 0.22%. She lost her license and will never drive for the Bus Tours to New York from Saint John NB again.
Saint Louis did finally catch a ride home, too. The bus company dispatched a new ride to claim their belongings from the runaway bus in Randolph, before heading to the airport to catch their late flight home.
