Uniform Predictions: Pitt
Here are our uniform picks this week after Kyle P. sneaked ahead last week with his black-black-white call on the Central Michigan threads.
Justin Southwell
White-Orange-White. Stripe the stadium, stripe the uniforms. I could also see the white w/ black stripe and black brand logo being used, as it’s a favorite among most of us. But I think they will save that for conference play.
Carson Cunningham
I’m on tilt. I couldn’t make up my mind on the podcast and spit out white (black brand, stripe and face mask), orange, black. I think OSU will actually debut a white helmet with a black Sheriff Star & black stripe on it, but uniform creator Chris Knox nixed it. I will still receive credit if they do, however.
Fact: OSU has never worn a tri-color combination at home before, much to Kyle’s chagrin. So I’m going out on a pretty big limb here. I usually prefer the 1-2-1 combos, but I think a tri-color combo of white-orange-black will be one of the most “Oklahoma State-looking” uniforms imaginable.
Kyle Porter
It’s difficult for me to see black being worn on the stripe-out-the-stadium week. Now that I look more closely, it does seem more likely that the team would wear W-O-W to match the crowd, but I’m staying with my orange helmet prediction.
That helmet, by the way, is not one we have seen from OSU yet. I had Knox whip up a version of the helmet worn in Week 1 but if it was orange instead. Would be a killer look. While we’re here, OSU’s orange this year seems so, so much different from the orange it wore back in 2012 (noticed this when I was doing the Throwback Thursday).
I grant that it might be the lighting or lack of it, but these look a lot different. I like what they are wearing now a lot better. Less reddish, more America’s Brightest Orange.
