Video: 2019 OSU Pledge Kalib Boone Shines at NBPA Top 100 Camp
More than 100 of the top prospects from across the country gathered in Charlottesville, Va., this past week to compete against one another in the NBPA Top 100 camp. Among the many on hand were two big names with OSU ties: 2019 big man Kalib Boone, who committed to OSU earlier this spring, and Booker T. Washington star Bryce Thompson, who is one of OSU’s top targets in the 2020 cycle.
Boone made a strong impression during his time competing against the best by displaying his next-level versatility on both ends of the floor. OK Hoops Report was on hand to cover the event, and caught on tape proof that Boone’s otherwordly shot-blocking ability translates against some of the top talent.

As for Thompson, he was a standout, too. His two-way capabilities as a defensive star and versatile offensive game to make an impact both as a ball handler and playing off the ball was huge.
Thompson’s game is more of the same — he’s consistently been considered a top-50 prospect nationally. But Boone’s game is the one that has most noticeably evolved. He has gone from tantalizing prospect to top-level producer, as Bill Haisten of the Tulsa World recently wrote about.
“Six months ago, I didn’t feel comfortable when I tried to bring the ball up the floor,” Kalib told Haisten before the camp. “The game was too fast for me. Now, I’m a lot more comfortable. My dribbling is better. My jump shot is better.”
Boone has developed into an all-everything player who can impact the game from the low- and high-post, block shots, finish around the rim, and catch and shoot from deep. Given his strong showing in Virginia, it may be a matter of time before more schools come calling — but thus far he and his twin, Keylan, are sticking true to their OSU commitment.
“We have a future at Oklahoma State,” Kalib said. “That’s not changing.”
