Watch: Behind the Scenes of Mason Rudolph’s Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Presentation
Mason Rudolph was presented the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award last month at a banquet in Baltimore. Footage of the presentation was sparse and quotes from those who were involved in the ceremony was even harder to come by.
However earlier this week, the Golden Arm Foundation released a behind-the-scenes look at Rudolph’s trip, what he got to experience, what he saw and more while being honored with the award. John Unitas Jr. spoke about Rudolph glowingly as part of the mini-documentary and selection process.
“It came down to the wire this year,” said Unitas Jr. “It came down to the wire again last year. But at the end of the day, the right selection was made.”
Gavin Lang, Assistant AD of Communications at OSU, summed it up best.
“It’s one thing to be recognized for on-field play — and believe me, he’s been recognized plenty for his on-field play. But to be recognized for the integrity, character, off the field — those are the things that really resonate with him. Myself, working for the OSU athletic department, this is the kind of person we are proud to call an Oklahoma State Cowboy.”
Check out the full 10+ minute documentary of Rudolph’s trip to Baltimore, flush with highlights of the ceremony and behind the scenes action in the video below.
