Roc Riggio made plenty of highlight-worthy plays in his time playing at O’Brate Stadium, and that hasn’t changed since he started his professional career.

Riggio hit a walk-off home run on Friday night for the Hudson Valley Renegades, the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. The solo shot broke a scoreless tie and secured a combined no-hitter for the Renegades. One of the three pitchers who combined for that no-hitter was former Cowboy Hueston Morrill.

The Yankees took Riggio in the fourth round of last year’s MLB Draft. In 67 games with Hudson Valley this season, Riggio is hitting .222 with 16 doubles, three triples, seven home runs and 27 RBIs.

Riggio is considered the No. 18 prospect in the Yankees organization, according to MLB.com.

He also made a highlight play in the field earlier this season. From short, Riggio ran back into shallow center field and caught a looping fly ball over his shoulder, but it didn’t stop there. Riggio hopped over a sliding centerfielder and chucked the ball back toward second base from his rump to secure a double play.

In two seasons at Oklahoma State, Riggio hit .316 with 29 home runs, 120 runs scored and 108 RBIs. He made the Big 12 All-Freshman Team in 2021 before making the All-Big 12 First Team in 2022 and heading to the pros.
