WATCH: Jalen McCleskey Talks About How OSU’s Offense Adjusted Against Iowa State

Jalen McCleskey had five catches for 74 yards and a TD on Saturday against Iowa State including a score at the beginning of the fourth quarter that pulled OSU to within three points. He said something  after the game that Mason Rudolph also said which is that Iowa State’s defense was not playing how OSU thought it would.

“It feels great knowing the fist half we cam out kind of flat,” said McCleskey. “We weren’t moving the ball how we wanted to. In the second half Coach Yurcich and all the coaches made great adjustments. The defense was getting turnovers and stops. We kept fighting. We started making plays towards the end of the third and fourth quarter, and we came out on top.”

“It felt great to be able to contribute. They played a different defense than what they thought they were going to give us. We had to go into halftime, make adjustments and run some plays that we knew would work against their defense.

“[The fan and sideline support] is really important because it gives us extra energy out on the field. Knowing that the sideline is hyped and the fans are really loud. It gives us extra energy.”

Halfway through the year McCleskey is on pace to have just under 1,000 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns. He has become an integral piece of OSU’s offense and proved that once again on Saturday in Stillwater.
