WATCH: Matt Rhule’s Wife Told Him to Draft Chuba Hubbard
Chuba Hubbard made an impression on the entire Rhule family.
Chuba Hubbard is headed to the Carolina Panthers to play for a former Big 12 foe.
Panthers coach Matt Rhule is familiar with his new running back who ran all over his Baylor Bears to the tune of 171 yards and two scores in 2019.
During the call that changed Chuba’s life, Rhule gave his fourth-round pick props.
“You know I couldn’t sit there and watch you run wild on me all those years at Baylor and not take you when I had the chance.”
Hubbard made such an impression on Rhule during his time at Baylor that even his wife remembered his name. Rhule said the his wife texted him and told him to take Chuba when he was still available in the fourth. “She speaks, it happens.”
