Weekend Watch Guide: An Oklahoma State Fan’s Guide to Week 4 of the 2026 College Football Season

It’s shaping up to be another week of madness in college football.

Here’s a breakdown of the Big 12 schedule and a look at other big games from around the country this weekend.

There are fewer games to preview this week, as much of the league enters conference play and Arizona State, BYU and Kansas all have the week off.

K-State-Cincy: Aside from the Cowboys’ trip to Morgantown, the premier game of the weekend in the league is this battle of unbeatens in Ohio.

The Wildcats have won all of their games by double digits this season after besting Tulane 31-20 last weekend. The Bearcats had to claw one out against Miami (OH) last week, winning 35-31 after the RedHawks led by 21 at the half.

TCU-UCF: In some ways, these teams’ first three games have mirrored each other. Both have lost a tight game to an ACC team and beaten teams from the Sun Belt and FCS.

After having a rough opener against North Carolina, TCU quarterback Jaden Craig leads the Big 12 through three games with 903 passing yards, throwing seven touchdowns and one INT in that stretch. Ed Small has been his primary target, as Small ranks second in the Big 12 in receiving yards with 330.

Colorado-Baylor: The Buffaloes are in need of a bounce-back, while the Bears likely need a win here if they’re going to be the team they wanted to be going into the year.

Colorado went to Northwestern and got throttled 41-7 last week, leading Deion Sanders to dismiss several players for conduct detrimental to the team.

Former Cowboy Gavin Freeman has been a stud for the Bears, as he ranks third in the Big 12 with 305 receiving yards through three games.

Texas-Tennessee: Arch Manning is headed to where Peyton Manning played college ball.

The Longhorns passed their big nonconference test against Ohio State, but their SEC slate is unforgiving. Of Texas’ remaining nine games, seven opponents are currently ranked in the AP Poll.

The Vols’ schedule hasn’t exactly tested them to this point, but we’ll know a lot after Saturday.

Boise State-Western Michigan: This game could be massive as it pertains to the Group of Six’s spot in the College Football Playoff.

Per FanDuel, Boise State has the best odds among the Group of Six to make the CFP at +240, while Western Michigan ranks ninth in CFP odds among the Group of Six at +2,500 — highest among MAC schools.

In every way but the documented result, Western Michigan beat Michigan. If the Mustangs go unbeaten from here on out, that’s going to be hard to ignore. Meanwhile Boise State’s only loss was by a touchdown to Oregon, and the Broncos have already taken out Memphis, another G6 team with CFP aspirations.

How Big Is the Hangover?: LSU and Ole Miss played one of the more emotionally charged college football games in recent memory last week, and now both teams have to come off that high (or low) and play a ranked squad.

Florida is actually favored against Ole Miss, somehow. The Rebels are coming off beating their former coach, while Florida won a big game against Auburn last weekend.

Coming off the loss, LSU is hosting a Texas A&M team that is also coming off a loss to Kentucky, so both of these teams’ margin for error is already slim.
