Where Mock Drafts Project A.J. Green to be Selected in the NFL Draft
A.J. to the Pats?
After a strong Senior Bowl showing and a good-not-great NFL combine, A.J. Green’s NFL Draft stock appears to have settled in. Here’s a look at where major outlets currently peg the former All-Big 12 corner’s value and where he may play his NFL career.
1. CBS Sports
Projection: Round 4, pick 142 overall
Team: Washington Redskins
Probably not the best team to land on — in fact, maybe the worst team! — but Washington has a need Green could help fill. The team parted ways with veteran corner Josh Norman, who recently signed with the Bills.
2. Bleacher Report
Projection: Round 4, pick 114 overall
Team: Arizona Cardinals
From being picked on by Kyler Murray to helping him out on the opposite end of the field? I’m sure A.J. Green wouldn’t hate that. This is a team that could use a boost of depth at corner, and one that, for a rookie, would be a dream destination to learn behind Patrick Peterson.
3. Dynasty Draft Room
Projection: Round 5, pick 173 overall
Team: New England Patriots
Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum. A.J. Green going to the Redskins would be a worst-case scenario. A.J. Green to the Pats would arguably be best-case. New England had the best defense in football last season and would offer Green a chance to learn from the best lockdown corner in the NFL: Stephon Gilmore.
