10 Cowboys Up For Preseason Awards In 2016
Do you know when this year’s awards watch list season started? It started in May. Brad Lundblade was named to the Rimington Trophy watch list on May 17. I think my feelings about preseason awards watch lists are well known, but the reality is that they are cool for these players, and we need one big running list (namely, this one). So here’s a look at the 10 Cowboys currently up for awards and which awards they’re up for.
Mason Rudolph
Maxwell Award (best player)
The Wuerffel Trophy (best community servant)
O’Brien Award (best QB)
Jordan Sterns
Bednarik Award (best defensive player)
Nagurski Trophy (best defensive player)
Jim Thorpe Award (best defensive back)
James Washington
Biletnikoff Award (best receiver)
Maxwell Award (best player)
Brad Lundblade
Rimington Trophy (best center)
Marcel Ateman
Biletnikoff Award (best receiver)
Vincent Taylor
Outland Trophy (best interior lineman, offense or defense)
Blake Jarwin
John Mackey Award (best TE)
Ben Grogan
Lou Groza (best kicker)
Jalen McCleskey
Paul Hornung Award (most versatile)
Mike Gundy
Dodd Trophy (best coach)
So there you go. Mason Rudolph is going to be recognized as the best community servant, and Jordan Sterns is going to win the rest of the trophies. This page will be updated as the rest of OSU’s team gets put on other lists throughout the preseason.
