Published

on

Here are some of the numbers that stood out on yet another wacky day in Stillwater, OK.

7:  OSU ended the game with seven sacks. That is more than double its previous best on the year for a game (three).

86: Glenn Spencer’s defense defended 86 plays on Saturday. That is the most plays it has faced so far this season.

49: That was OSU’s 49th win in the last 55 games against unranked opponents since 2010. OSU does not lose very often against unranked opponents.

9: Brandon Weeden had 16 300-yard passing games. Mason Rudolph now has nine. Zac Robinson had five.

2000: The last time OSU lost to ISU at home was 2000 (!)

29: Mason Rudolph has 29 career TDs at Boone Pickens Stadium to only four INTs. That is preposterous.

15: There was a 15-yard difference in average starting field position for OSU and Iowa State. OSU started on average on its own 36. ISU started on average on its own 21. According to BCF Toys, in a 17-possession game, the expected value difference here is a touchdown.

7: How about this for a stat?

10: James Washington now has 10 plays of 30+ yards under his belt. That’s tied with Amba Etta-Tawo (Syracuse) for No. 1 in the country.

20.31: Of players with 25 or more catches nationally, only Equanimeous St. Brown (Notre Dame) averages more than James Washingotn’s 20.31 yards per reception.

339.8: Mason Rudolph is averaging just under 340 yards a game which ranks No. 6 in the nation behind Pat Mahomes (TTU), Davis Webb (Cal), Ryan Higgins (La. Tech), Luke Falk (WSU) and Kenny Hill (TCU).

20: OSU has scored 20+ points in 22 straight games. That is No. 3 in the nation behind Oregon and TCU.

.83: Oklahoma State’s turnover margin per game is 0.93. That’s No. 2 in the Big 12. Only Kansas State (1.20) is better. Only Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Baylor have a positive turnover margin per game.

1: Of players who have thrown 150 passes or more (63 players), only one (Higgins) has fewer INTs than Rudolph’s two.
