The Cowboys picked up good news on the recruiting trail late Tuesday when senior wide receiver Shamond Greenwood, a big performer in the mini-camp in Stillwater over the weekend, made the call to commit to Oklahoma State.

Greenwood is a monster prospect at 6-foot-3, 205, who runs a 4.43 40-time according to his HUDL film. He uses his length to his advantage and at the high school level, every jump ball is his.

According to a recent post from Scout, Greenwood is one of five three-star prospects in the 2017 class who could be NFL players. Here’s their evaluation from national recruiting analyst Greg Powers:

Greenwood is not your typical big-framed wide receiver because he runs 4.43 laser-timed 40-yard dash. It is not an easy thing to find receivers in his mold that run and move the way that he does. He is the go to guy on his team’s offense and can take over games. He is a good weapon in one-on-one match-ups and is able to win the deep ball very often and is a home-run hitter on the outside. What you love to see on tape is his ability to land some big blocks. Greenwood is most seriously considering offers from Iowa and Mississippi State.

Greenwood picked OSU over 13 offers that included Iowa, Mississippi State, Wisconsin, Colorado State, Utah, and others. Greenwood is now the 18th commitment of the 2017 recruiting class that ranks No. 26 nationally and No. 2 in the Big 12.
