4-Star Houston Safety Names Oklahoma State in Top Schools
Recruiting the state of Texas has been a staple to the success at Oklahoma State in the Mike Gundy era, and the current staff is looking to keep that rolling with Houston area safety Leon O’Neal Jr. — a four-star recruit who recently named Oklahoma State in his top 12 schools along with Texas, Oregon, Texas A&M, Clemson, Oklahoma, LSU, Florida, TCU, Ohio State, Alabama and USC.
O’Neal is rated as the No. 8 safety in the 2018 recruiting class, and a top 100 national recruit.
Although he is a defensive recruit, he was being recruited in part by Marcus Arroyo — who jetted off to Oregon to take a new role in Eugene. He visited Stillwater at the end of January along with another OSU target, Taye Barber, who indicated the two might be a packaged deal.
