5 Halftime Thoughts On Iowa State

1. 10 assists, outrebounding its opponent by six…who are these guys?? Here’s the thing though, I need people to stay in their lanes. Cezar taking off-balanced threes? No. Cezar ripping steals and driving and dishing to Cobbins? Absolutely! There are a lot of guys with a lot of very specific skills on this team, they just need to figure out how they all meld together.

2. How about Markel Brown in striking distance of a triple double with a 6-4-4 line in the first half. He looks electrifying at times but, like Josh Stewart, needs plays called to get him into some open space.

3. Trivia question: it’s been longer since OSU won a Big 12 road game or threw a bounce pass on offense?

4. I think all you need to know about this season is that Christien Sager just got minutes for OSU in its 5th conference game with an opportunity to move into 4th place in the Big 12. He was recruited by Trinity University which is where I went my freshman year. It’s a fine school, tough academics, but it’s also Division III. He ended up walking on at OSU instead and was later awarded a scholarship…because we’re not short on those right now. And now he’s playing.
