5 Halftime Thoughts on Texas OSU
1. That throw from Weeden to Cooper to set up the first touchdown was [fill in hyperbolic next-level NFL-like statement here].
2. Yes, the offense has started slow and yes, I’m not totally sure where Todd Monken put his playbook (because he is clearly not in possession of it). But OSU still put up 232 yards and 21 points on the #24 defense in the country. And they get the ball to start the second half.
3. Cowboys Ride for Free wrote a post about this week (and I need to) – but this isn’t your daddy’s (or older brother’s) Oklahoma State defense. They’re good.
4. Justin Blackmon has 6 for 71 and 1. I’m betting he doubles that in the second half. Weeden has gone to him when he needed a huge play every time. Having the best wide receiver in the country as your safety valve is a pretty nice luxury.
5. I just can’t get into Texas’ offense. They look…almost…like they’re in slow-motion or something. Get a quick strike after the kickoff and a three-and-out from Ash and you’re driving for the dagger early in the third.
