Oklahoma State Quarterback Pledge Spencer Sanders Signing Early
Oklahoma State’s quarterback of the future, 2018 commit Spencer Sanders, will put pen to paper and sign his national letter of intent on Dec. 20, the first day of the newly implemented early signing period.
Sanders is a four-star prospect from Denton Ryan who has led his team to a flawless 13-0 record thus far this season. He’s one of the top-rated quarterbacks in the state of Texas, and depending on who you ask, might be the starting QB for OSU as early as next season.
But if he’s going to take over the job, he won’t be able to officially compete for it until next summer when he arrives for summer classes and begins training with the team. He told me this week that, although he plans to sign early, he doesn’t intend to enroll early and will instead play hoops and finish out his senior year.
“I want to live out my senior year,” Sanders told 247Sports this week
“I’m really going to take it one step at a time,” he continued. “That’s what I did in high school. I’m not going to look at it any different. Yeah, I know that level is better, but if I’ve got men around me that can help me, I can do anything that I can. The guy above will give me the strength to do anything.”
In 13 games this season, Sanders has accounted for 3,287 passing yards, 58 total touchdowns and 1,037 rushing yards.
