Watch: Kevin Peterson Intercepts Jimmy Garoppolo in First Career Start for L.A. Rams
Making his first career start for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Oklahoma State alum Kevin Peterson snagged his first career interception in impressive fashion.
The second-year player from Wagoner, Oklahoma made a nice read on a Jimmy Garoppolo thrown ball across the middle to jump in front of it, and put a cherry on top of the play with a nice return to give his team good field position in enemy territory.

With the Rams clinching the division last week, the team rested some of its key starters including MVP candidate and star running back Todd Gurley against the 49ers. As a result, L.A. used Sunday as a preseason game of sorts to test out its younger batch of players, and Peterson was all the better for it.
Peterson began his NFL career with the Bears after Chicago signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He was later waived, re-signed, then waived again before catching on with the Rams as a practice squad member in late-2016.
This season, too, has had its own trials: Peterson signed a future contract in January of this year and was waived in September, only to be signed to the practice squad. He was promoted to the 53-man two weeks later but, you guessed it, waived three days later before again signing back to the practice squad.
He has been an active member of the Rams roster since Nov. 22 and has recorded 3 tackles, 1 pass deflection and an interception.
