ESPN’s Dick Vitale, Jay Williams Plead Case for Oklahoma State’s NCAA Tournament Hopes
At 5:00 p.m. on Sunday evening, Oklahoma State will know for sure whether it will end the season in the NCAA Tournament or in the NIT.
Although the committee’s selection process is far less political than that of the College Football Playoff process with metrics, bracket scrubbing and eye tests playing a factor in the selection, ESPN personalities have stated their case in favor of Oklahoma State in recent days.
Like Dick Vitale, who came out as a strong supporter of the orange and black by pointing to OSU’s quality wins over teams that will almost certainly be in the field.

And Jay Williams, who did the same.
I will be beyond shocked if @OSUMBB doesn’t make the field for the @NCAA. Big time big time wins vs KU, WVU, Texas Tech and Oklahoma.

ESPN personality and former Indiana coach Tom Crean stated his case for OSU earlier in the week, too.
“How is Oklahoma State not in?!” said Crean. “They beat Texas Tech, they won at West Virginia, and they beat Kansas twice which nobody else has done. The Big 12 is as powerful as it has been in recent memory, Oklahoma State belongs in [the NCAA Tournament.]”
Politicking won’t help OSU’s case, but hey, it certainly won’t hurt it, either.
We’ll see at 5 p.m. whether or not it made any difference.
