James Washington is Excelling in Camp, and Fine After Apparent Foot Injury
It was reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that former Oklahoma State receiver James Washington had apparently suffered an injury to his left foot during training camp yesterday.
Rookie receiver James Washington got his left foot examined by a trainer. He’s walking off the practice field on his own accord.

However, it seems that all is well with the former Cowboy wide receiver. James Wexell, of 247Sports’ Steel City Insider, tweeted out this morning that Washington’s injury wasn’t serious and he is planning to practice today.
To answer the question I posed in today’s Morning After, James Washington is fine and plans to practice today.

This is great news for Cowboy and Steeler fans alike, as Washington has been impressing in camp so far the same way he did during his time in Stillwater.

He’s even been working a little on kickoff returns, which would be an interesting wrinkle for the first-year player out of Stillwater.
Smith-Schuster, Sutton, Justin Thomas, Quadree Henderson and Washington all fielded kickoffs during special teams periods. Henderson and Thomas have taken the vast majority of punt return reps through camp to date. [Penn Live]
And it sounds like he’s taken a little bit of Stillwater (and Stamford) to Pittsburgh, USA. Here’s ESPN’s Fowler again on what James James has been doing this summer.
Washington’s idea of a good time this summer is restoring a 1986 Chevy C10 wide bed and cruising through local parking lots.
“When you drive to Walmart and someone sees you, they say, ‘Hey, nice truck’ — it makes you feel good because you put in all the hard work to get that,” Washington said.
Pittsburgh has plenty of Walmarts and footballs to go around in the Steelers’ offense. Washington figures to be a deep threat alongside Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster. [ESPN]
Sounds about … exactly right.
