Video: Mason Rudolph, James Washington Hook Up for Deep Ball in Preseason Debut
The first installment of Rudolph-to-Washingtion, NFL Edition, was witnessed on Thursday night as the two former Cowboys hooked up to the tune of 35 yards during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first preseason game.
Rudolph, who took the reins of Pittsburgh’s offense at the top of the third quarter, currently leads the three-QB weave of he, Landry Jones and Josh Dobbs at 7-of-12 passing for 101 yards midway through the fourth quarter. Washington has two catches for 44 yards.
Rudolph started a meager 1-for-4 for 14 years before connecting on 6-of-8 to follow, including this gimme from the defending Super Bowl champs’ defense.

And this one across the middle to — you guessed it — James Washington.

Noticing an off-sides penalty, Rudolph did his best Aaron Rodgers impersonation and found a familiar target in a familiar way.
Washington boxed out rookie cornerback Avonte Maddox and Rudolph saw the free play, putting a jump ball just where he knew only Washington paw at it. The rest was automatic.
