Dez Bryant Makes Brief Appearance on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’

Dez Bryant may be throwing up the “X” next season in a new uniform, but it doesn’t appear it will be in white, brown and orange.

The former Oklahoma State wideout who was released by the Dallas Cowboys earlier this year made a brief appearance on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ on Tuesday during a recruiting visit that included a meeting (and hard sell from coach Hue Jackson!) in Cleveland, but it didn’t end with a new deal.

Jackson left it all on the table, pitching Bryant on joining a massive turnaround with the Browns.

“Twenty-one days, baby,” Jackson said to Bryant. “Pittsburgh Steelers. Right here at home in front of the Dawg Pound. It’ll be unbelievable. This will be the greatest turnaround in sports history.”

Dez seemed genuinely impressed by Hue Jackson’s pitch, but left town without signing a contract. However, Dez did give a peak behind the curtain on what he’s looking for in his next team during his visit with the embattled head coach.

“I’m just looking for realness,” said Dez. “Cause this is new to me, I’m just being honest. All this is new. The way you’re expressing yourself, the way you’re talking to me, we barely even know each other and I feel comfortable. That’s what these players want.”

Since Bryant’s free agent meeting in Cleveland, star receiver Josh Gordon has returned to the Browns, likely ruling them out as a destination. This development could leave him jobless to start the season, as it’s unclear if he has interest elsewhere, but the upshot is that he likely won’t be playing for the Browns.
