Joel Klatt Says “We Need to Pay More Attention” to Oklahoma State
Klatt lays out why the Cowboys deserve more national attention.
The analytics community is loving Oklahoma State and both its efficient offense and stunningly steady defense through three weeks of the college football season, and the national media is taking notice.
Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt mentioned Oklahoma State in one of his weekend previews on Fox Sports’ Twitter account as one of a two teams that deserve more national attention for what they’ve accomplished to date.
“Oklahoma State is the shocker to me, because we’ve all assumed they don’t play defense,” said Klatt. “They’ve got a brand new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, who came over from Duke, and he’s doing something special with Oklahoma State.”
Klatt also pointed to Mississippi State, citing the fact that, outside Alabama, only OSU and MSU are averaging 50+ points on offense and surrendering 17 or less per game on defense.
