Tyron Johnson Signed to Buffalo Bills Practice Squad
Tyron lands on his feet in Buffalo.
It didn’t take long for Tyron Johnson to find a landing spot. Just two days after missing the Houston Texans’ final roster cut, the former OSU wideout has signed with the Buffalo Bills to compete on the practice squad.

After going undrafted this past spring, Johnson signed with the Texans and, from all accounts, had an impressive training camp. But he only caught one pass in each of this three preseason games. He did get some burn in the return game.
Heading into Saturday’s roster cut, it appeared to be neck-and-neck between Johnson and Vyncint Smith for the Texans’ fifth and final receiver spot, but neither ended up making the final 53. Smith was signed to Houston’s practice squad.
In Buffalo, Tyron will compete for a spot in a receiving corps headlined by the likes of John Brown, Zay Jones and Cole Beasley. He’ll have a chance based on his upside and if he can continue to display his athleticism and deep-threat ability.
