Marcus Smart Tests Positive for Coronavirus: ‘I’m OK, I feel Fine’
He urges people to practice social distancing.
Marcus Smart has joined the ever-growing list of NBA players who have tested positive for the coronavirus amid the global pandemic, announcing on Thursday that his test five days ago came back tonight with a positive reading.
Smart says he’s been in self-quarantine in the days since his test and generally seemed in good spirits despite the diagnosis, but he urged everyone to practice social distancing and to take other necessary health precautions to avoid spreading the disease.
“I’m OK, I feel fine,” he said. “I can’t stress enough practicing social distancing and really keeping away from a large group of people. Really wash your hands and protect others by protecting yourself.”

Smart joins the known list of NBA players who have tested positive that includes Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell. Just in the last few days, players from the Sixers and Lakers have also tested positive despite the league suspending its season this past week amid fears that the disease would spread.
