Marcus Smart Cleared of COVID-19
Marcus Smart no longer has the coronavirus.
To what shouldn’t be to anyone’s surprise, Marcus Smart’s immune system plays some solid defense.
Smart announced that he has been “corona free” since Friday in a tweet Sunday night. Smart added that the Massachusetts Department of Health cleared him and that he didn’t have any symptoms while the virus was in his system.
Corona Free as of two days ago. Cleared by Mass Dept of Health.
Thanks for everyone’s thoughts and prayers and I’m doing the same for everyone that’s been effected by this. Stay safe and stay together- apart!
Much love!— marcus smart (@smart_MS3) March 30, 2020
Smart announced he had the virus March 19 after receiving positive results from a test he took five days earlier.
A handful of NBA players were announced to have gotten infected, which lead to the league’s games being suspended.
Smart was a two-time All-American in his two seasons at Oklahoma State. He was named the Big 12’s Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in 2013. He averaged 16.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.9 steals in his 64 games of college ball.
The Boston Celtics took him sixth overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. He made the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team in 2019 and has career averages of 9.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, four assists and 1.6 steals a game through five and most of a sixth seasons.
