OSU Commit Donovan Williams Sends Inviting Message to Five-Star Greg Brown
The recruiting equivalent of, “U up?”
Late Tuesday night (or early Wednesday morning for the olds crowd), new Oklahoma State pledge Donovan Williams put a fan to the flames of speculation surrounding five-star recruit Greg Brown and his recruitment, sending a tweet at 1:01 a.m. with a message that read:
Hey @gb3elite what’s good bro ????
— = Donovan =⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (@DonovanW_) April 15, 2020
It was as wink-wink as possible. The recruiting equivalent of a, “U up?” text.
Brown is a Class of 2020 five-star power forward from Austin, Texas ranked as the No. 9 player in the country — and Cade Cunningham’s former AAU teammate. He’s considering Memphis, Texas, Auburn, Michigan and Kentucky in his final five, but OSU is lurking in the shadows with the Cade connection, and with a not-so-subtle note from his father this past week leading one to believe OSU is hanging around.
Oklahoma State also has an obvious need, too, after four-star power forward JT Thor surprisingly picked Auburn this past week over Oklahoma State. It put OSU’s staff into initiating a contingency plan, one believed to involve Brown as a heavy focus, with a final push ahead of his April 24 commitment.
All signs point to Texas for Brown — and it makes sense given his familial connections — but don’t count OSU just yet. We already know Cade and Brown together on the court is an electric machine, and if Brown wants to run it back in a different environment, he’ll be invited to.
