Oklahoma State Adding Graduate Transfer Lineman Chandler Anthony, per Report

After losing a couple of key rotation linemen earlier this month, Oklahoma State’s coaching staff is restocking the cupboard with a familiar name.

Chandler Anthony, a former offensive tackle at North Texas, is intending to join the Cowboys for the 2020 season according to a report by GoPokes.

Anthony is a Tuttle, Okla. product and older brother of sophomore offensive tackle Hunter Anthony, a projected key member of the Cowboys’ now-shorthanded OL group. Hunter started four games for the Cowboys last year.

The older Anthony joined North Texas as part of the 2016 class. He also held offers from Memphis, Wyoming and Illinois State but decided to stay closer to home where he played in all 25 games for the Mean Green the last two seasons after a 2016 redshirt season. He was UNT’s backup left tackle last season, starting one game.

Anthony left the program in March with a degree in search of other opportunities according to a school spokesman. He entered the transfer portal on Aug. 24 and appears to be headed back home to Oklahoma just a few days later.

OSU lost Bryce Bray and Jacob Farrell, two key pieces of its OL rotation, earlier this month when both entered the transfer portal after being dismissed for violating team rules.
