Former OSU Heavyweight Alan Gelogaev has become a U.S. Citizen

Former Cowboy heavyweight and two-time All American Alan Gelogaev has become a U.S. Citizen.

Gelogaev, who was originally from Moscow, Russia, came to the United States and eventually Oklahoma State in 2008 via a connection he made with Olympians Daniel Cormier and Jamill Kelly. Kelly and Cormier were training in Russia at the time. Gelogaev struggled with some injuries throughout his career but when healthy was as exciting as they come.

Alan was a two-time All-American for the Cowboys in 2010 and 2013, finishing seventh and third at nationals. His 2011 and 2012 seasons were both cut short due to injuries.

Gelogaev came to Oklahoma State to pursue a degree and career in finance, and he went to New York City and worked for a hedge fund after college. He returned home to Russia briefly then came back to the United States and has now officially become a United States citizen.
