Bedlam Point Spread Tightens Ahead of Kickoff
Money is coming in on the Pokes.
The betting line for Bedlam has been a topsy-turvy rollercoaster over the last two weeks.
OU opened as 6.5-point favorite before it ballooned to as high as 9.5 points in favor of OU at some places, but it’s since fallen to within a touchdown margin, a sign that late money is coming in betting on the Pokes to keep it close.
At last check, the Pokes are now just a 7-point dog at William Hill Sportsbook. And according to the Action Network, 40% of money is in on the Pokes to cover that line. At +100 odds, a $100 bet would net you a $100 return on investment. (By comparison, OU’s -107 odds to cover the number would net you a $93.46 return on a $100 investment.)
Bedlam has a history of going down to the wire, but a few of the recent meetings have not been particularly close. Last year OU won by 18, by 10 in 2017, and then by 18 and 35 points in 2016 and 2015, respectively.
This year should return to competitive, however. OSU is as close to full health as it has been in weeks, and OU this season — while the Sooners have surged of late — have shown they’re not totally bulletproof on the year.
