Superlatives from OSU’s 50-44 Win over Texas Tech
The best plays and momentum swings from a wild Senior Day win.
Oklahoma State turned in its first legit shootout of the season in the Cowboys’ final home game. There were plenty of remarkable plays from both teams, so let’s review the win by looking at some of the most noteworthy.
OMG Moment: Tylan
Tylan Wallace played his last game at BPS on Saturday and it was full of your classic TYLAN moments. But none were better than this sideline grab after adjusting in the air.
The next elite wideout to capture our awe may already be on OSU’s campus, but whoever it is, he’ll have a hard time doing the things Tylan does. Savor these next 2-3 games, folks.
Biggest Momentum Swing
The Cowboys found themselves on the ropes early in the second half, thanks to an interception and consecutive three-and-outs by OSU’s offense. Then the Red Raiders landed a body blow with a 48-yard touchdown strike from Alan Bowman to Erik Ezukanma to take a 24-21 lead.
The Cowboys needed a spark and Jason Taylor II provided one when Tech decided to try to catch the Pokes off-guard with an onside kick. The Cowboys never trailed again.
Favorite Senior Day Moment: Calvin Bundage’s Sack/Safety
Calvin Bundage picked a nice time to record his first sack in nearly two months.
It was nice to see for a longtime Cowboy who fought back from a serious back injury.
Favorite Dez Jackson Run(s)
If you asked me for my favorite Dez Jackson run before Saturday, I’m not sure I could have obliged. After his 36 carries in his big game against Tech, it’s exponentially more difficult.
There were just too many tough runs like this.
And this.
But all things considered, I have to go with his final run to seal the game. A storybook ending for his huge game.
Interesting stat: After just one start in late November, Jackson ranks No. 11 in the Big 12 in rushing yards.
