OSU Draws Miami in 2020 Cheez-It Bowl
It’ll be the second-ever meeting between the two programs.
Oklahoma State (7-3) will face Miami (8-2) in the 2020 Cheez-It Bowl, it was announced Sunday, along with the rest of the bowl pairings. It will be the second-ever meeting between the two programs.
The game will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 29 in Orlando, Fla. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 ET and the game will be televised on ESPN.
It’s an unfamiliar foe but a familiar venue for the Cowboys as they return to the Camping World Stadium. OSU last played there in 2017 in the Camping World Bowl when it faced Virginia Tech and defeated the Hokies 30-21.
The only previous matchup between Oklahoma State and Miami took place before most of the current roster was even before. In 1991, the two met in Miami, Fla., and the Hurricanes won 40-3. OSU, under coach Pat Jones, went 0-10-1 that season.
The Hurricanes this season suffered their only losses to top-20 opponents in losing to No. 1 Clemson in October and to No. 17 North Carolina last week, both in lopsided fashion. Their only win over a ranked foe came in September, against then-No. 18 Louisville.
