It’s bowl week.
The Cowboys will kick things off against Miami on Tuesday afternoon in Orlando. We’ll be here for all your bowl prep but in the meantime here are some talking points from around the interwebs.
OSU Bullets
โข With Rodarius Williams opting out, Jarrick Bernard-Converse is OSU’s No. 1 cornerback in the bowl game, as Scott Wright pointed out.
According to Pro Football Focus analytics, Bernard-Converseโs receiver was targeted 34 times this season, but he allowed only 15 receptions for 255 yards with six pass breakups. He had his hiccups, too, giving up a couple big plays against Texas Tech and TCU. But for the most part, he has been a reliable cornerback.
That will need to continue against a big-play Miami offense led by quarterback DโEriq King. [NewsOK]
โข A Miami blog keyed in on something that I touched on last week, an opportunity for the Hurricanes to exploit the turnover-prone Pokes.
The Hurricanes won 47-34 against Louisville, 52-10 against Florida State and 48-0 versus Duke in the three games Miami forced multiple turnovers. Miami is not likely to defeat Oklahoma State in a blow. One of the Hurricanes best paths to victory against the Cowboys is by forcing multiple turnovers. [Canes Warning]
โข A different Hurricanes blog ranked the top 25 Cheez-It Bowl participants based on the their Pro Football Focus ranking, and 16 of the 25 (and four of the top five) where from Oklahoma State’s roster. [Inside the U]
โข John Paul Richardson, an Oklahoma State signee who is expected to enroll next month, was showing out for his Ridge Point team on Saturday.
And he wasn’t done. Richardson helped his Panthers edge out Atascocita to advised to the Texas 6A D1 quarterfinals.
โข A new member of the pack.

โข #Tank4Cade? SG-A says nah.
โข Seems significant.
