Cade Cunningham, Rondel Walker Out Against Baylor
The Cowboys are missing two major pieces.
STILLWATER — Cade Cunningham and Rondel Walker each spent time warming up ahead of the Cowboys bout with No. 2 Baylor, but neither will be available for Saturday’s game.
Walker is out with an arm injury, according to Dave Hunziker on OSU’s pregame radio show. Cunningham’s reasoning was not specified.
The Cowboys suspended team activities Jan. 15 after the team had a positive COVID-19 test that involved contact tracing. The two warming up likely means if either tested positive, they have since tested negative.
However, there are other tests athletes must go through to return to play.
“Additionally, return to play protocols after positive occurrences will include an EKG, troponin blood test, echocardiogram, and cardiac MRI.”
[Big 12]
The projected No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Cunningham has started every game for the Cowboys this season. He is the Cowboys’ leading scorer averaging 17.8 points a game. He is also averaging 6.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists a game.
Walker has been a sparkplug off Boynton’s bench. He has averaged 9.1 points a game. He scored the Cowboys’ game-winning and-one against Kansas in the Pokes’ most recent game.
The Cowboys will have eight available players against the Bears, as Chris Harris (knee), Donovan Williams (knee) and Ferron Flavors are all out with injuries.
