OSU Returning to Full Capacity Attendance for Home Events Remainder of Spring

A little more than an hour before OSU softball’s high-stakes rubber match vs. No. 1 Oklahoma for the Big 12 title in Stillwater, the athletic department on Sunday announced it will be moving to full capacity attendance for all home sporting events the remainder of the spring.

The change goes into effect immediately, and continues with the six remaining Cowboy baseball games at O’Brate Stadium.

“I can’t wait to see what O’Brate Stadium looks like when it’s packed,” OSU head coach Josh Holliday said in a release. “Crowds to this point have been fantastic, so I can’t even imagine the energy in our park once all of our fans are allowed in.”

Face masks are required for all fans attending games except when actively eating or drinking, OSU said. Hand sanitizing stations are still available throughout the softball and baseball stadiums.

OSU’s softball games have been heavily attended and filling capacity doesn’t seem like it’ll be a problem for the Cowgirls, who on Sunday can clinch their first-ever Big 12 title against the rival Sooners. OU is 41-2 on the season with one of its two losses coming in Game One of the best-of-three Bedlam series, which concludes today.
