Daniel Cormier to Star in New TV Series ‘Warriors’
The former OSU wrestler, turned UFC champ is trying his hand at acting.
Gavin O’Connor, the director of the 2011 movie Warrior starring Tom Hardy, announced that he’s developing a TV series loosely based on the movie that will star former Oklahoma State wrestler and UFC Champion Daniel Cormier.
“The story will follow four new characters — two male fighters, two female fighters — competing in the Sparta MMA tournament. O’Connor revealed that he’s cast former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier for one of the roles. He’ll play Bobby Watkins, a Houston fighter who’s trying to pull his family out of poverty.”
Cormier will be the second OSU wrestler to make the wrestling to UFC Champion to analyst to actor transition, following Randy Couture, who took the same route in his career.
