Malcolm Rodriguez Pulled a Wrestling Move in His First NFL Game, and It Was Glorious
Rodrigo continues to shine.
Past experience with wrestling seems to have always played a significant role in the success of Malcolm Rodriguez on the football field even dating back to high school. But nowhere was that on bigger display than Sunday, as he dug into his bag in his first regular season showing in the NFL (!!) to unleash a wrestling move.
The move came against four-time All-Pro offensive lineman Jason Kelce to add to the glory of it all. Down by the goal line, Kelce had his hands on Rodriguez, who simply got leverage and then hip tossed him to the turf.
That’s a four-time All-Pro offensive lineman Rodrigo just slammed, I should reiterate. Kelce is every bit of 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds. And Rodrigo just tossed him to the ground like it was nothing.
Detroit ultimately lost the game, 38-35, but Rodriguez made his impact felt. In addition to the highlight reel play, he added six tackles and tied for a team-high with one tackle for loss on the day.
