Jacksonville Jaguars Select Tyler Lacy in Fourth Round of 2023 NFL Draft
Lacy is headed to Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday selected former Oklahoma State defensive lineman Tyler Lacy with the No. 130 pick in the the 2023 NFL Draft. The pick made him a fourth-round selection as the 27th pick of the round and the highest-drafted player from OSU in the 2023 class.
Lacy came to OSU as a three-star prospect out of Sachse High School (Texas) as part of the 2018 class. After sitting a redshirt season, he started in all 10 games he played as a freshman — missing three games due to injury — and proved himself an immediate impact player.
He was a leader for the Cowboys’ defense over the never three years, earning three consecutive All-Big 12 honorable mentions and ending his career with 11.5 sacks, 30 tackles for loss and four passes defended. He was also invited to the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Lacy’s selection gives OSU a defensive player drafted by the NFL in a third consecutive season after getting four — including three in 2022 — selected across 2021 and 2022. He’s the 14th defensive player to be drafted in the Mike Gundy era and the second-highest drafted defensive linemen of the Gundy era behind only Emmanuel Ogbah, who was taken with pick No. 32 in 2016.
