Eric Dailey Jr. Selected for USA Basketball’s U19 World Cup Squad
Eric Dailey and Mike Boynton can win another gold with USA Basketball.
Eric Dailey Jr. made the cut and will again represent his country this summer.
USA Basketball on Friday announced its 12-man roster for the FIBA U19 World Cup, and Dailey — entering his freshman season at Oklahoma State — made the team. The U19 World Cup takes place from June 24 to July 2 in Debrecen, Hungary. Dailey and the Americans start pool play with a game against Madagascar on June 24. Mike Boynton will be an assistant coach on the team.
This won’t be the first time Dailey dons the red, white and blue. Dailey won gold alongside Boynton and Brandon Garrison at the U18 Americas Championship last summer, averaging 9.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists a game while shooting 43% from 3-point range. He was also part of Team USA at the Nike Hoop Summit and won gold at the 2021 3×3 U18 World Cup.
Listed at 6-foot-7, Dailey was a consensus four-start prospect in the 2023 class, ranking as highly as the No. 33 player in the country. Out of Florida, he chose Oklahoma State over offers to Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Miami, Michigan and others.
The USA has won the U19 World Cup eight times, including three of the past four. Two Cowboys played in the 2019 rendition of the tournament, when Isaac Likekele and Cade Cunningham won gold together.
