Three-Star Defensive Lineman Edward Smith Puts Oklahoma State in Top 4 after Official Visit
Smith is a 6-foot-6 D-lineman from the Lone Star State.
The Cowboys made another cut for 6-foot-6 defensive lineman Edward Smith.
After releasing a Top 7 in May, Smith on Wednesday announced his Top 4: Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Oregon and Houston. Smith took an official visit to Stillwater this past weekend.
Listed at 6-6, 250 pounds, Smith is the No. 476 player in the 2024 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, making him a top 100 player in the state of Texas.
He hails from Dawson High School in Pearland, Texas. As a junior in 2022, he tallied 22 tackles, eight tackles for loss and a pair of sacks while forcing a fumble and a safety.
Mike Roach, a national analyst for 247Sports, predicts Smith will end up in Lubbock with the Red Raider, a prediction Roach made on Monday.
Oklahoma State has eight players in its 2024 class as of writing. The Cowboys don’t have a defensive lineman in the cycle after in-state star Will Smith decommitted last month.
