OSU Baseball: Cowboys’ Senior Day Game Cancelled Due to Weather
On Mother’s Day, Mother Nature had the last word.
It’s a good thing the Cowboys sealed their series win over the Red Raiders on Saturday night, because Sunday’s series finale, the last scheduled game inside O’Brate Stadium this season, was scrubbed by Mother Nature on Mother’s Day.
No. 19 Oklahoma State’s home finale against Texas Tech was cancelled due to inclement weather. It was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday. The game was delayed to 2 p.m. before the decision was made to cancel due the risk of inclement weather.
The Cowboys took their final home series with a 16-4 win on Friday and a 9-3 win over Tech on Saturday to move to 34-16 overall and 17-9 in Big 12 play heading into their final regular-season series next weekend.
Unfortunately, that means eight Cowboys missed out on the full Senior Day experience. Seniors Ryan Bogusz, Jaxson Crull, Lane Forsythe, Sam Garcia, Bryson Hughes, Evan O’Toole, Riley Taylor and Tyler Wulfert were all set to be honored at O’Brate, but they’ll still have a chance to shine.
The Pokes will square off against the Cougars at Houston at 6:30 p.m. Thursday for Game 1. Games 2 and 3 are slated for 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 1 p.m. The Big 12 Championship will take place in Arlington on May 21-25.
