7-Foot Danish Forward Andreas Holst Visiting Oklahoma State

The Cowboys will have a unicorn on their campus this week.
Andreas Holst, a 7-foot forward from Denmark, is visiting Stillwater. Holst is the No. 54 player in the 2025 class, according to On3. He has reported offers to USC, Oklahoma, SMU, Washington, Illinois and others.
“I’m a 7-foot forward who can play (small forward through center),” said Holst in an interview with Pro Insight. “My main strengths are my shooting and my mobility and athleticism. That’s where I excel the most, and also in transition. And also my defensive versatility, being able to switch and also being able to protect the rim.”
In that interview with Pro Insight, Holst said his favorite player is Kevin Durant and that he tries to model his game off guys like Lauri Markkanen and Chet Holmgren. You can see that in his play style.
Holst played with the Bakken Bears last season in Denmark. The Bears play in the Basketligaen, the highest level of Danish basketball. He also spent time with Bears Academy, an affiliate of the Bakken Bears that also plays in the Basketligaen. He averaged 9.3 points and 3.4 rebounds a game in 23 Basketligaen with Bears Academy, according to EuroBasket, while shooting 38-for-132 (29%) from 3-point range. In 16 games with Bakken, he averaged 6.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 14.8 minutes a game while going 16-for-55 (29%) from 3. He had a game in January where he scored 20 points while shooting 4-for-6 from 3.
Holst also played with Denmark at the FIBA U18 European Championship in 2023. In seven games, Holst averaged 8.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks a contest while shooting 30% from 3 on 37 attempts.
On3 is the only major recruiting service that has Holst ranked (as a four-star recruit and the No. 54 player in the class), but it’s common for international players to slip under the radar of recruiting services.
Oklahoma State coach Steve Lutz recently added his first player in the 2025 class, picking up four-star guard Ryan Crotty last week. Lutz has also shown he isn’t afraid to go across the pond to add talent, as Lutz added Serbian big man Andrija Vukovic in August to fill the final spot on OSU’s 2024-25 squad.
