Three Thoughts

TulsaWorld notes they expect Garrett Rangel to start at quarterback next week for the Pokes – if I’m being optimistic, let’s see if OSU uses Rangel’s athleticism to open up the run game more (TulsaWorld)

This article grading OSU’s season so far made me reevaluate the grade I would give the defense vs. the offense to this point (PFB)

Clint Chelf talked about Alan Bowman’s situation as the quarterback in Stillwater – namely why we’re seeing poorer performance than last year and it really doesn’t have a lot to do with him:

“We’ve got a good grasp of what Alan is and what his strengths are, and I think you’re seeing a team that is around him that is not having any success stopping the run or running the ball, and so we’re seeing more pressure put on him, and sometimes he’s up to it, sometimes he’s not, and that’s just part of playing the position.”

Two Quotes

• All of us today:

• Pokes will have their hands full with BYU next week – apparently a solid night game team. There may be a soft underbelly of a schedule with BYU being an independent in that time, but still an impressive number:

Since the 2019 season, BYU has been an astounding 28-3 in true night games but just 6-14 in day games against FBS opponents.
