The Cowboys are set to lose a lot of their offensive line depth this coming offseason, so stocking that talent pool for the future is an even bigger priority than normal. It’s with that intention that Oklahoma State is trying to flip an athletic in-state big man.

Miguel Chavez, a 2025 three-star offensive lineman from Muskogee, announced an OSU offer via his X account on Tuesday.

Chavez’s first offer came from the Runnin’ Rebels back in November of 2023, followed by a handful of others from the likes of Air Force, Navy, Army and Utah State. After a visit to UNLV this past June, he committed on July 1. But now Pistol Pete has thrown his hat in the ring — and he’s got a man on the inside.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Oklahoma native transferred from nearby Porter to Muskogee ahead of his junior season and immediately started making a name for himself. According to his head coach, he’s taken another step forward as a senior — and that’s partly due to the tutelage of Muskogee’s new OL coach, former Oklahoma State lineman Levy Adcock.

“Levy [Adcock] brings in a whole different style of coaching,” Muskogee head coach Travis Hill told the Muskogee Phoenix. “As an All-American lineman in college who played a little beyond that, he coaches them like they’ll be coached at the next level, and I think Miguel has really taken advantage of that knowledge and style. Miguel has helped us mold our offensive line into five guys that play really, really play hard on every down and those five guys are as big an MVP for us as Byrd (quarterback Jamarian Ficklin), Draye (receiver Ondraye Beasley) or P.J. (running back P. J. Wallace).”

Chavez, Adcock and the Muskogee Roughers are 10-0 this season in 6A-II. The Rougher offense is averaging 49.9 points a game. Muskogee earned a bye in the first round of the state playoffs and await the winner of Putnam City and Bartlesville. The Roughers haven’t played Putnam City this season but beat Bartlesville 55-0 on Oct. 11.

Chavez is a three-star prospect according to multiple outlets with ESPN being the highest on him, ranking him the No. 22 prosect in the state of Oklahoma. 247Sports has Chavez slotted at No. 25 currently and as the No. 115 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class.

Have a peek at some of Chavez’s highlights.
