Cowboy fans probably needed a week off from watching their team, and hopefully this weekend brings with it some fun football.

Oklahoma State is off this weekend, but there are plenty of good matchups both in the Big 12 and around the country. Here is a preview of the weekend.

Big 12 Schedule

Houston (4-5) at Arizona (3-6) — 9:15 p.m. Friday on FS1
Utah (4-5) at No. 17 Colorado (7-2) — 11 a.m. Saturday on FOX
Baylor (5-4) at West Virginia (5-4) — 3 p.m. Saturday on ESPN2
Arizona State (7-2) at No. 16 Kansas State (7-2) — 6 p.m. Saturday on ESPN
Cincinnati (5-4) at Iowa State (7-2) — 7 p.m. Saturday on FOX
Kansas (3-6) at No. 6 BYU (9-0) — 9:15 p.m. Saturday on ESPN

The Big 12 slate kicks off with a late-night game on Friday between the Cougars and Wildcats. Houston is coming off back-to-back wins against Utah and Kansas State, and could still get to a bowl in Willie Fritz’s first season. Arizona hasn’t won since beating Utah on Sept. 28.

Speaking of the Utes, after the emotional rollercoaster that was the Holy War last week, Utah heads to Boulder to play a Colorado squad that still has everything in front of it.

Baylor or West Virginia will achieve bowl eligibility this weekend in Morgantown. The Bears have won three in a row while WVU has won two straight.

Arizona State’s trip to Manhattan might be the league’s Game of the Week. The Sun Devils survived UCF without Cam Skattebo last week while the Wildcats will hope to rebound after an upset loss in Houston.

Cincinnati will hope the Cyclones’ rough patch continues because it would mean bowl eligibility for the Bearcats. Both of these teams enter Saturday’s game on two-game losing streaks.

Don’t look now, but after playing poorly for a good chunk of the season, the Jayhawks might’ve figured some things out (is there hope for OSU?). Kansas has won two of three as it travels to Provo for a date against BYU, as the Cougars look to get ever closer to cementing a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Other Games to Watch

East Carolina (5-4) at Tulsa (3-6) — 6:30 p.m. Thursday on ESPN
No. 3 Texas (8-1) at Arkansas (5-4) — 11 a.m. Saturday on ABC
No. 20 Clemson (7-2) at Pitt (7-2) — 11 a.m. Saturday on ESPN
No. 25 Tulane (8-2) at Navy (7-2) — 11 a.m. Saturday on ESPN2
No. 22 LSU (6-3) at Florida (4-5) — 2:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC
Nebraska (5-4) at USC (4-5) — 3 p.m. Saturday on FOX
No. 23 Missouri (7-2) at No. 21 South Carolina (6-3) — 3:15 p.m. Saturday on SEC Network
No. 13 Boise State (8-1) at San Jose State (6-3) — 6 p.m. Saturday on CBSSN
No. 7 Tennessee (8-1) at No. 12 Georgia (7-2) — 6:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC

Tulsa is the only in-state school playing this weekend, as the Golden Hurricane hosts East Carolina. Tulsa has lost four of its past five.

Tulane and Navy could be a fun matchup as the Green Wave is lingering on the outside of the playoff picture. If a couple of things broke right for the Midshipmen, they too could be a part of that conversation.

The Ashton Jeanty show is headed to San Jose. Jeanty’s Broncos are the favorites among Group of Five programs to make the CFP, and Jeanty is a Heisman contender.

The weekend all leads up to Tennessee’s trip to Athens in a big time SEC tilt that has College Football Playoff implications. Could Georgia still get in with a third loss? If Georgia wins, how far would Tennessee drop? We’ll know the answer to one of those questions before too long.
