Superlatives: Game MVP, Top Plays and More from Oklahoma State’s Loss to Colorado
MVP, stats to note and more from the Cowboys’ season finale.
Oklahoma State finished its 2024 season with a 52-0 loss to Colorado on Friday. So for the last time this year, here are superlatives from another Cowboy loss.
MVP: Travis Hunter
We usually do an Offensive and Defensive MVP, but Travis Hunter is one-of-a-kind. So these superlatives with the MVPs will also be combined. As a defensive back, Hunter pulled in an interception on only the third play of the game to set up Colorado’s first touchdown. He also added a tackle and broke up two passes, nearly getting a second INT.
Then as a receiver, Hunter caught three touchdowns with 10 receptions for 116 yards.

Stat of the Game: Nine
Friday’s result was OSU’s ninth loss in the row as Mike Gundy failed to record a conference win for the first time in his 20-year career. The losing streak is tied for the longest in program history, with the first time combining the end of the 1977 season and the start of the 1978 season. So, this was the first time an OSU team ever had a nine-game losing streak during one season. It’s also the first time OSU has lost nine games in a season (regardless of streak) since 1991 when the Cowboys went 0-10-1.
That streak will either stand alone as the longest or end when the Cowboys kick off the 2025 season against Tennessee Martin in Stillwater.
Number to Note: 315
In the last game of his historic college career, Brennan Presley had eight catches for 42 yards, both of which were team bests. He finishes his career as OSU’s all-time receptions leader with 315 during five seasons. That number is good for 12th in NCAA history.
