Report: Wide Receiver Da’Wain Lofton to Return to Oklahoma State
Lofton averaged over 23 yards per catch last season.
The Cowboys have managed to keep some much-needed receiver talent in Stillwater.
Oklahoma State wide receiver Da’Wain Lofton, who announced that he would enter the transfer portal earlier this month, has reportedly decided to return to Oklahoma State for his final season, according to 247Sports McClain Baxley.
#OKState receiver Da’Wain Lofton will be returning to OSU for the 2025 season, his agent @BNM_777k tells me.

Lofton appeared in four games for the Cowboys this past season after transferring from Virginia Tech. He totaled just six catches but made the most of them, averaging over 23 yards per catch. In his debut against West Virginia, Lofton had catches of 10, 22 and 41 yards. Against Baylor he had a 56-yard reception. Lofton battled through injury at the start of the year before that West Virginia game. It then made sense to redshirt him after he played in four games.
In three seasons at Virginia Tech, Lofton caught 353 passes for 410 yards and three touchdowns.
The Cowboys could use that type of playmaking ability next season after saying goodbye to their top three receivers De’Zhaun Stribling, Brennan Presley and Rashod Owens.
Lofton will rejoin an OSU offense that has gone through some change this offseason. OSU fired coordinator Kasey Dunn at season’s end and announced that Doug Meacham, who coached inside receivers (the role Lofton plays) at TCU, would take over calling plays for the Pokes.
