What was long reported became official Monday: Shamar Rigby will be a Cowboy.

Rigby officially announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Monday — becoming the third portal prospect to pledge to the Pokes on the day. 247Sports’ McClain Baxley reported the expectation of Rigby’s signing back on Dec. 22. Rigby is one of three receivers to commit to OSU out of the portal along with Sam Jackson V (Auburn) and Jaylen Lloyd (Nebraska). Jackson committed Saturday, and Lloyd did so earlier Monday.

As a true freshman last season, Rigby appear in 12 games for the Boilermakers, pulling in 11 catches for 113 yards. But even as a rookie, he showed glimpses of his playmaking abilities.

At 6-foot-4, Rigby could plug into a major hole in OSU’s offense. The Cowboys lost both of their major outside targets in De’Zhaun Stribling (portal) and Rashod Owens (eligibility). OSU also lost slot receiver Brennan Presley due to exhausted eligibility. OSU is set to return Talyn Shettron and Da’Wain Lofton. No other returning OSU receivers reached 100 yards last season.

Rigby was a three-star prospect in the 2024 class out of Clearwater Central Catholic (Florida) and chose Purdue from an offer sheet of 26 schools including the likes of Nebraska, Minnesota, Kansas State, Iowa State and West Virginia.

He’s the third player to announce his commitment Monday, joining Lloyd and UCLA corner transfer Jaylin Davies.
