โ€ข Pokes got their first league, Steve Lutz’s first Big 12 win last night, taking out Kansas State at Gallagher-Iba (PFB)

โ€ข Here’s a simple explanation of why the Cowboys got the win last night:ย

The Cowboys played better Tuesday in myriad ways, but most importantly, the Pokes got back to their identity under Steve Lutz: forcing a ton of turnovers and scoring off those turnovers.

โ€ข The handoff of OSU athletic pride from Eddie Sutton to Mike Gundy is worth being grateful for:

That void was filled by Suttonโ€™s return, and Suttonโ€™s basketball frenzy became a source of pride in Stillwater, as well as an economic salvation.
And when Sutton retired in 2006, amid a drunk-driving scandal, Gundy, the hero quarterback of the 1980s, already was back as football coach. By 2010, the Cowboys were Big 12 contenders, in 2011 the Cowboys were national contenders and OSU has been a wild ride of fun, success and excitement ever since.
