Daily Bullets (Mar. 15): Can Jaylen Warren Land a Starting Job, Pray for Fires Out in Stillwater
Thanks for stopping by – here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news.
Three Thoughts
• Yesterday was a wild, fiery, and smokey day in Oklahoma – OSU Baseball and Softball games were initially postponed to today but the doubleheaders in baseball and softball, plus men’s tennis, have now been canceled (X)
• As we wait for the Cowgirls to play in the NCAAs and the Pokes to wrestle in it, I’ve been watching old Cowboys sign NFL deals – most curious to see if Jaylen Warren can establish himself as the feature back in Pittsburgh (CBS Sports)
• Pokes landed a commitment from a defensive lineman from southwest Missouri – should be a great culture fit in that neck of the woods thinking about guys like Parker Graham (PFB)
Two Quotes
• Winning more games at home and this fact are two reasons for optimism for Cowboy Basketball as the Pokes are sitting at home in March:
(Steve) Lutz and his coaching staff should have more time to put together a competitive roster for the 2025-26 season, as he was one of the last hires in the coaching carousel last summer. Hopefully, Oklahoma State fans’ patience will be rewarded in the near future.
• Demerick Morris transferred to OSU from Temple and recently returned to Philadelphia – here’s his coach on the situation:
“First of all, Demerick was a single-digit, was a great player here, and really well-respected. And just went somewhere and it wasn’t the right fit.”
One Question
• How much of the success level of a college basketball coach is tied to his coaching prowess versus his NIL budget? Over/under 40% coaching/60% NIL budget?
If that data could be publicized and accurate, March Madness predictions could be impacted.
Non-OSU Bullets
• Features of adulthood • Myths and realities of the Revolutionary War • Faith-based take on how to make friends This is generally a good take while understanding there’s degrees of experiencing consequences:
“The person who experiences the consequences should make the decision.” James Clear
